Description:
This program is a 12 graduate credit certificate to acquaint working technical professionals with developments in systems engineering. Students will develop knowledge in this area. Systems engineering is defined as an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of successful systems. It focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, then proceeding with design synthesis and system validation while considering the complete problem.
Students will develop their knowledge in this area and also have the ability to transfer these courses in to a masters degree in engineering. This distance education program is available to working professionals who have undergraduate degrees in engineering, engineering technology, and related fields. It is also an option for persons with graduate degrees who seek career renewal. Systems engineering provides a unique opportunity for working professionals to integrate their work experience with advanced class work.
