Description:
The undergraduate BA in Sociology provides a solid liberal arts foundation for entering the world of business, law enforcement, education, government, non profit organizations, environmental and health career fields. The BA in Sociology prepares students to work in today’s multiethnic and multinational global environment. The degree provides valuable insights into social factors like race, ethnicity, gender, age, education and social class that can affect a wide range of variables like workplace productivity, organizational effectiveness, family and community dynamics, and environmental policy.

Required Courses:
The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology requires a total of 128 student credit hours of which 54 must be upper division (300 and 400 numbered courses). A total of 33 sociology credits are required. Of the 33 credits in sociology, no more than 9 can be lower division. Required sociology courses are Soc 351 Social Theory, Soc 352 Social Research: Methods, Soc 353 Social Research: Analysis, Soc 401 Introduction to Sociological Practice.
