DACC opened in 1973 as a vocational-technical school and has expanded to an enrollment of 5,000 (approximately 2,500 full-time equivalent students). That figure is expected to reach 7,000 in headcount by 2010, according to DACC Finance Officer Andy Burke, who has been involved with the project since its inception. DACC offers more than two dozen associate degrees and certificates in the divisions of Health and Public Services, Technical Studies and Business and Information Systems. Also in attendance are students enrolled in General Studies, Adult Basic Education and Community Education courses.
