Student Handbook

eLearning requires discipline. An online student must be willing to dedicate the same amount of time and effort to an eLearning course as they would a face-to-face course.

An online student must be a self-motivated learner: able to begin course work, keep track of projects, and complete course assignments on time with little or no supervision.

An online student must be willing to actively participate in class discussion and activities. eLearning courses afford greater flexibility in regards to time spent participating in discussions and completing course work. A successful online student needs to be able to efficiently utilize this time online.

Since most communication with the instructor and classmates occurs through email, message boards, and chat programs, an online student should be able to communicate ideas clearly in writing.
